Whenever I read the title of this show… I’m tempted to read it as Cashino Royale, like the actor in my fren’s FYP short film “Inspector X”… Haha… If you can get hold of that DVD, watch it! It’s hilarious…
But, anyway…
I never actually intended to watch Casino Royale… Ended up watching it twice… I must say though, it was very different from the previous Bond movies…
I don’t have any real recollection of catching a Bond movie in the past. But I did have the impression that they were all just action flicks, where Bond has his silly catchphrases and cheesy dialogue, sleeps around with every woman in sight, then goes and saves the day with nary a scratch on his body. Not to mention the dancing naked women in silhouette in the opening sequence. Shows like that, are quickly relegated to the back of one’s consciousness…
So, I was pleasantly surprise to see that this James bond film was completely different… Might even venture to say, he had more of a backbone. He doesn’t treat women like whores (He doesn’t care for them at all)… He really fights and kills… And he doesn’t care how his martini is served…
I won’t say more about it cos I know some of the exam muggers still haven’t caught it yet. But I’d just leave a warning… Because this James Bond is less superficial and more brutal, the movie tends to get rather gruesome. If you can handle a little more bloodshed than the average James Bond, I think you’ll like it…
