Sometimes I really wonder where my sister & her hubby get their mad little ideas from. This is what happened…
Preggie sister drags me to the tree in the living room.
‘Lemme tell you the story of the christmas tree,’ she says.
She points excitedly at the top of the tree. ‘What’s up there?’
I looked up. ‘The star?’
The hubby asks, ‘So what’s ’star’ in Latin?’
My personal lightbulb comes on. ‘Stella!’
The two proceed on to point out all the stars in the tree. And there are really a lot of them. Even Mother’s streamers have stars on them!
Then the preggie sister continues.
She points to a snowflake decoration. ‘What’s that?’
‘Snow…’ Lightbulb comes on again. Stella’s chinese name is 雪音, a combination of the words ’snow’ and ‘music’.
Preggie sis points to the musical instrument decorations.
‘Music!’ I say excitedly.
Preggie sis & hubby laugh.
‘Oh!’ I continued. ‘I know what Stella’s new nickname’s gonna be!!!’
I bend down to feel preggie sis’s tummy.
‘Hello, my little Christmas Tree!’
