Printed some photos at the Kodak near work, and was terribly unhappy with the colour that they gave me. Not wanting to believe that it was the quality of my picture resolution or the artificial grain from the Powershot, I decided to print the same few pictures at another Kodak, one that gave me very good colour in the past.
The results were very different!
I decided to scan them and put them up here… It’s a picture that many would have seen on my blog in the past… (The one uploaded before was the digital copy which i gave the shops to print @”digital size”)
For fairness, both pictures were scanned together at 180 ppi. No colour correction was done. And while the pictures were reduced in size, I’ve kept their proportions exactly right.
Comparing Kodak
The first Kodak forced me to pay a minimum of $4 for 10 pics, even though I only wanted to print 5 pics. Although, the digital size of the pics was almost 5R in size.
The second Kodak just charged me for the 5 pics I wanted to print. The colour you can see for yourself, and the digital size was a lot closer to 4R.
Looking at the 2 by quality of print, cost and size… Which would you go for?
