Quick observation

In recent months, I’ve had to clear my blog from the hundreds of spam comments before I start blogging.

While none of you actually see any of it, since every comment must be approved by the administrator (me) before it’s visible to the public (you), it makes blogging far more cumbersome than it should be. And I have, on several occasions, been discouraged by the 400+ pending comments that I gave up writing altogether.

It has been this way since the WP author of Spam Karma 2.0 gave up his quest to rid the world of spam. One could understand his need to do something else, but still couldn’t help missing him for all the good his widget had done for blogs like mine. Even if I don’t even remember his name.

But something caught my eye while clearing through my spam today: A registry cleaner. Spam comments don’t usually talk about anything vaguely useful or interesting. Not to me anyway. But a registry cleaner! One always needs those to clear out unused registries in one’s computer (read: make computer faster).

And then a thought came to mind…

When will they ever spam me with a comment promoting a good spam cleaner?
