Tried the crossword puzzle? Here’s the solution.

Nearly half of all the questions didn’t coincide with their correct answers in the grid. I rearranged the question numbers to fit the answers in the grid.

Shoddy work. Someone at publicity clearly wasn’t doing their job.

P.S. 6-Down could be either M-U-G or C-U-P. It’s hard to guess which is correct.

Macs gave a coffee crossword puzzle in one of their discount coupon handouts.

Being bored and avid coffee drinkers, we decided to try it out. We got all the answers but we discovered very serious errors in the puzzle.

I’ve put the puzzle here. Try your hand at it and see if you can find the errors.

I’ll put up the solution tomorrow.

We got a pack of Lay’s with our Subway and discovered something new about the packaging.

Now it’s made from 100% Sunflower oil, as opposed to the combination of Sunflower, Cottonseed and Corn oil it used before. This new change is supposed to make it healthier cos there is zero grams of trans fat and only 1g of saturated fats for every 10g of chips.

Unfortunately, now Lay’s BBQ chips look like and taste like Jack n’ Jill. I don’t think i’m ever gonna pay double for Lay’s when they taste like the cheaper alternatives.

Had a cell reunion dinner at Sixth Avenue Auntie’s place yesterday, cos she asked us to go back.

She was really nice to us again. The yu sheng was on the house! I got a good deal cos it was supposed to be my treat.

Then after the dinner, in true CNY tradition…

It’s been a great long holiday…

Waking up late, seeing the family, taking care of Stella, great homemade family dinners, homemade pineapple tarts, meeting dar and his family, visiting sophia’s home, ang pows… Everything was good and happy and pleasant… I was just starting to really like this lifestyle and then reality hits back.

Work starts again tomorrow!

Ahhhhh….

Sorry about the 1 month plus delay… But my blog was undergoing some upgrading… (i.e. the background techie stuff that my dar likes to do and I dun understand. I just get an idiot proof blog to use…)

The thing about cell outings nowadays, there are always new people around… It’s great!

Sometimes, a simple birthday at home is the nicest kind…

Especially when the cake is from “The Patissier”… =)

Lou is soo gonna kill me for this…

By a strange twist of events, I ended up at the Coffee Bean downstairs from my office, instead of my usual Starbucks…

I was aware that I’d boycotted C&T for the longest time and I shouldn’t be so unfair…So I told myself, “perhaps it’s time I gave Coffee Bean a chance again…”

I went in all ready to start over… And everything went downhill…

• The brew of the day was really weird
  It was alot cheaper than my cap, and I know there’s free refill… But I couldn’t even finish my first portion of it… Wasted my $$…
• The seats were deceptively harder than it looked
  They are nice and red leather but when you sit in them thinking they’re soft, they’re just hard wooden seats… grr!
• There was no free Wireless@SG
  ’nuff said

How can a decent coffee place have no free wireless??!!

I haven’t gone to AMK in a really long time…

I know I live nearby… But the thought of taking a bus down to take a train at a place with no Starbucks is just not my idea of time well spent… Especially when town and my office is a straight bus from home!

Finally went to check it out today after LCE… With Kay of course…

AMK is an old town… Nothing changes… A lot of the shops I used to frequent in my sec school days to are still around… There are some good changes of course… Like cash converters (Good for selling… Not for buying…)

The best part is AMK Hub, the huge spanking new shopping mall combined with bus interchange and underpass to AMK station… It was open today, for Basement 1 & 2… And we went in to take a look… Quite a few shops were opened already, selling clothes, accessories, and lots of stuff… There’s “The Box”!!

Fairprice was open at B2 and so were the eateries… We found a great little stall selling… DONUTS!

I got the Cookie Donut (White chocolate frosting & Oreo Sprinkles), and Kay got the Almond Donut with dark chocolate and a creamy centre… Both were very nice… Dark chocolate was sold out, so I’m guessing it was good too… Next time, we’re gonna try the sugar glazed cos it reminds me of Krispy Kreme!

Hopefully by then, AMK Hub would be opened properly and I won’t have to walk the long stretch just to get to the bus interchange… And that there would be more shops to visit…
Also praying hard that Starbucks will open there… *Fingers crossed*
