Yakult vs Vitagen

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

It’s the age old debate. As old as the Coke vs Pepsi one.

Which is better? Yakult or Vitagen?

I dun intend to do a detailed rundown about the benefits of both… That’s already been done… And my choice is clear… YAKULT… Because it just tastes nicer… (Even though my grape Yakult just exploded on my leg, making it sticky and gross after I’d taken my shower.)

But there was one silly incident that occurred in my blur-blur childhood days…

According to Biggie Sis, I went to visit a Vitagen factory for a kindergarten class excursion. And we were brought around to see how everything worked. At the end of the talks and all, the lady asked us the standard question, “So what yoghurt drink do you like?”

Biggie sis said I stood up and shouted, “Yakult!”

I protested at this point. I remembered standing up and saying that I liked Yakult, but I did that at an excursion to a Yakult factory…

Clemletts Cell

Saturday, December 2nd, 2006

Laughed so hard in cell today that my stomach started aching.

Being the first cell after exams and last formal cell of the year, everyone was high!

Lots of stuff transpired, over Clem’s treat of Macs & ice cream.

Casserine has moved on to newer pastures… to join her Future (Will miss her terribly!!!)

Cass became the new icon for the Fashion label and is now known as Guessandra.

D is now known as Mama D. (Pretty hip hop!)

Les’ was spotted with a particular Miss Japan and is currently being bugged for details. (Seriously, he could have saved himself some trouble if he hadn’t taken out the 2 ticket stubs for the show he watched with Miss Japan, one week b4 exams! Everyone thought it was mine…)

Rayzor will start talking like the Americans, just to get acclimatized… Next time you see him in church he’s gonna go, “Yo! Let’s pray, yo!”

We christianed Clem’s future son Clemlett and future daughter, Clemletta.

Clem intends to illegally pitch tents on Sentosa beach, for his wedding dinner. When the authorities come, everyone will have to pick up their own chair and tents and run.

Clem’s wedding cake will have the Mac’s happy meal toy Cinderella instead of the usual wedding dolls. He still hasn’t got the prince yet, so someone’s gotta buy happy meal next week!

My cell leader went into some excessive detail about couple behaviour in public that grossed out several cell members last week. This week, 2 of the 4 didn’t turn up for cell. (Hopefully not because they got freaked out.)

Clem threw his dirty tissue into the nuggets box which still held one last nugget. Rayzor suggested playing zong ji mi ma just to see who would get it.

Disclaimer: This blog is written in good humour, to demonstrate the rapport of the cell. It is by no means designed to upset the harmony of the cell or section, or to dishonour the cell leader. In fact, we’re quite proud to be clemmie’s little clemletts. Thanx.

A Party

Went for Swee’s birthday party…

Swee's Bday002

She did a really great job…

Hers always has a theme… This year it was “Take a glorious bite of the whole world”…

There were invites, posters and little badges that had the same design of a rainbow and clouds in a clear blue sky! The cake had it too!

I got a badge that says “I Rock”. The other choice was “You Suck” but i decided not to put anyone down… Not so blatantly anyway…

Was nice seeing everyone again…

Swee's Bday001

Wasn’t so nice telling everyone that I’m still looking for a job… Felt like trash actually… Oh well…

Happy Birthday Swee… Hope you like your present… (Which was basically our FYP group’s convocation photo in a nice photoframe…)

Didn’t have a very good start to the day… Went to sleep upset and worried… Dreamt everything again in the night… Woke up in fear… Walked around dazed all day… Even when I went shopping at Bras Basah, my comfort shopping place…

Thank goodness for Ling, and HK iced milk tea at Xin Wang…

IMG_0255

She was troubled too… So, we had a nice tea together and talked and talked and talked… From 330 to 7…

IMG_0242

Proper shoes… Anti-establishment sentiments… The dark side… Planned madness… Lamborghinis… Battles in the mind… Somehow, the troubles in your mind get a whole lot smaller when you can joke about them…

IMG_0243

The food was good too… Plan to go again with Ling… We needed a new place to hang out… Besides Holland V…

IMG_0245

At the end of it all, I was feeling so relieved… So was she… I always knew we had a lot in common… That’s what kept us friends all these years… But I can’t believe she writes her thoughts in her phone too! Hahaha!

Thanx for the company girl! It meant so much to me today… Love you so much!

Preggie Sis Anecdote

Sunday, November 5th, 2006

Dinnertime…

Preggie Sis eats.

“Ahh!” She exclaims. She just dropped food on her white blouse over her tummy.

Hubby & younger sister watch her.

Preggie Sis diligently picks at the food on her tummy and eats it. Once, twice, three times. When nothing is left on the tummy, she goes back to her plate.

Hubby & younger sis giggles.

“Haven’t you ever eaten the food dropped on your lap?” She asks.

Unable to hold her laughter, the sister says,

“Yes, but your food never made it to your lap!”

Burgers, Futures & Making Babies

This week’s supper turnout was pathetic… Clems, Sulih, D & myself… And we had two cars…

Anyway, we headed down to Botak Jones @ Clementi Ave 5…

IMG_0111

It’s a pretty well known western food stall at a kopitiam… Cass said it was featured in Nanyang Chron, and Sulih recalls seeing it advertised in some other medium.

IMG_0157

Apparently, the boss is really botak… But we never saw him… We met one of the friendlier helpers though, who boasts of a previous job in a snazzy hotel and believes in good service even at Botak Jones’…

IMG_0114

Despite the lack of attendance, we had quite a lot of fun…

Picky Eaters

Thursday, November 2nd, 2006

“There’s only gonna be one picky eater in the family… That’s me!”

That is the determination my preggie sis has in making sure Stella eats everything… Like her hubby.

It was the day my fussy sister ate celery. And beetroot. A real miracle.

They say that babies (or fetuses) can taste the food that their mothers eat towards the later part of the pregnancy. That, and when the mothers start breastfeeding the babies. Apparently, babies get accustomed to the taste of the food their mothers take in, and find it easier to eat that same type of food later on in life.

So if you dun like eating vegetables, check and see if your mother ate vegetables while she had you. (Yes that means you, Ms Ha. And frankly, I think I already know the answer. ;) )

Now, in order to make sure that Stella won’t reject vegetables and other vital food groups, my preggie sis has taken to forcing herself to eat every type of vegetable placed before her… even the kinds she hates. *applause*

Sure, she has all her motherly instincts in place, wanting the best for her baby… But I sometimes wonder if my own darling sister has a couple of less-than-completely-altruistic reasons for doing it.

Cos, think about it… If Stella and her daddy ate anything and everything… My sis (who is terribly picky, like the rest of us) gets to pick and choose whatever she likes to eat, while leaving the rest for her unfussy hubby & kid!!

My sis is one shrewd mom-to-be.

London gifts are falling down

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

I love it when my sister comes back from a holiday… She always brings back great presents…
This time she was away on a business trip to London…

I got a box of 20 silver candles! Normally i hate getting impractical presents… But useless silver things are always the exception… She even knew it was the correct silver… so touched…

She also got me a cool black bag… It can be completely unzipped and rolled up to stowaway when I go on trips and camps and might need an extra bag….

Stella has 2 darling dresses! 1 of them is from GAP!!! Screech!!! She is gonna be one spoilt baby…

Preggie Sis (14)

Preggie sis parading the Baby GAP dress…

Preggie Sis (15)

The Baby GAP blouse - Does this fit stella?
Too bad the brother-in-law stepped in early and limited Stella’s clothing to S$30 max per piece… Spoilt our fun… He knew me and my mum and sisters would have gone wild otherwise… Shucks…

Here’s the thing… Stella’s branded wear is gonna be my kids’ branded hand-me-downs in about 8 years time… My big sis already declared it… Hai… As if it wasn’t enough that I wore hand-me-downs all my life… My consolation is that my kids are gonna wear baby gap from 0-3mths… How cool is that?

And you know what else?

She (my sister, not stella) brought back 2 Krispy Kreme donuts!!!

I LOVE MY SISTER!!!
