Why do they always have to make me so sad??

The poor village girl was finally having some good luck in her life. She had a great job as an AD, the young handsome director was in love with her.

Then it turns out that she is the long-lost sister of the guy’s girlfriend, who died in a car accident while in his car. The family already didn’t like him much, and when he unintentionally killed their precious girl, they never wanted to see him again.

He thought he could starting afresh with this girl. But, now that this girl is found and acknowledged by her blood family, he could no longer be with her. Again!

And this girl is being hard pressed on all sides. She isn’t allowed to visit her foster mother (who brought her up), she isn’t allowed to go to work, she has to go university, and she’s not allowed to be with the man she loves.

WHY???

It’s really not good to be emotional about everything. Teared while watching the snippet of Schindler’s List at service too… Grrr

Was recently reminded of the Kokoro website…

I first learnt about it from Maomi, during the exam season of my second last semester in NTU (Wasn’t my last sem cos I only had 1 exam)… We studied in TR103 at the North Spine for weeks… Yeap… I studied… (Well, I attempted to at least)

During lunchbreak, we’d buy takeout from can A (my jap food as always), connect the lappie to the projector and watch a show from Kokoro…

It’s a taiwanese website of animation drama serials… Think 流星花园 in cartoon format… You get the idea… The shows are quite short, about 6 to 8 episodes, and each episode is about 5 mins… Although the stories are predictably cliched, it’s still pretty moving… Sulih, Cat & I got so upset over 恋雨…

The website’s changed now… It only shows two of their newest serials… You can’t view the archived shows…except for a fee… I never managed to watch the famous show 摘心… But I did watch the new show 蛋糕核桃烧… And I was glued to it, after the first episode…

Not everyone can stand watching a show about a wishy-washy lovelorn guy, meeting a girl who looks exactly like his first love (the ex girlfriend apparently disappeared into thin air, commited suicide or got washed away at sea when he was away…).

Even fewer people can stand it when he falls in love with the lookalike and then gets confused and rejects her, only to find out later that she had been loving him from a distance for a long time, and dressed up to look like the guy’s ex only because she wanted to console & comfort him… (oh, and they call it true love… whatever…)

The most severe critics would complete trash it when they watch how he finally came to his senses and went to look for her, only to find her and save her from an oncoming truck and then get hit by it himself (ok fine, i hated that bit too… Overused…)

But, for the disgusting romantic that I am… I loved it to bits!

I’m utterly ashamed of myself…

Watched Little Miss Sunshine & wanted to blog about it….

Discovered that dear mouschi already did

Watched my favourite detective HK tv series and wanted to blog about it… since it was the final episode…

Discovered that Miss Ha already did

So if you wanna know what it’s like? Go read their blogs….

Maybe on a good day, I’ll blog about them myself… But if I don’t? Well, too bad…

The entire ‘My Lovely Sam Soon’ is uploaded on Youtube!!!

With English subtitles too!

(Very suaku I know… My cellmember enlightened me…)

She watches “My lovely Kim Sam-Soon” on vcd…

It’s a real love-hate thing…

Love it because…

- She’s really cool. She wins at fist fights, she speaks her mind, she doesn’t take manhandling, and she can really bake well.

- The dialogue is really cute! (I wanna get my own copy of the show and write down all the nice quotes)

- Hyun Bin & Daniel Henney are so HOT!

Hate it because…

- She keeps meeting the doofuses and it isn’t even her fault…

- In less than 7 years, I could be her… (sans the cute Korean guy who really loves me and does all sorts of silly things to please me…)

Kim Sam Soon

Hai…

Jonathan lost

I watched SG Idol for the first time this season…and it was the finals…

So unhappening as my own sister called me… Apparently Stella’s been catching more of SGI than I have… But come on, she doesn’t have anything else to do… swimming around in my sister’s belly…

Anyway, JONATHAN LEONG ROCKS!!!

Fine, I’ll admit it’s mostly cos he looks way cooler than Hady. Hady’s cute in a boyish sort of way (got some baby fat), but Jonathan looks more grown up and poised. Jonathan even looks taller (Although, as we realized later, they are about the same height), and yes I dig his long hair.

Performance wise, it’s quite evident that Hady has a much greater vocal range. He made the lousy SG Idol song sound nice. (And believe me, it’s a really trashy song with cheesy lyrics.)

But I think Jonathan made better song choices. The groovy “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol (which I personally recommended on my blog) and “Should I Stay” by Dreamz FM.

I loved the Dreamz FM song when it was playing on the radio. Really sweet that Jonathan chose the song because it was written locally. So love a man who knows his roots. And besides, he sang the two songs really well…

The rocker with the heart, the unique voice and the looks…

No prizes for guessing who I voted for…
